There was a great deal of media attention when she was named as a possible replacement for Hope Hicks, the communications director. It has been a battle that has been brutal. Schlapp has sided with Tony Sayegh, who was running for office. They began sparring in media. Schlapp called Sayegh after that the Washington Examiner printed a bad report about him.
